How it works
- Site assessment. We inspect the existing board, wiring, capacity and compliance and talk through what you are planning (new appliances, EV, extension).
- Fixed-price quote. Clear scope, clear price, usually the same day.
- Installation day. New board fitted, circuits labelled, safety switches and surge protection tested, and a walk-through of what each switch does.
- Certificate. A Certificate of Electrical Safety for your records, insurer or property manager.
What affects the cost
Switchboard size, full replacement versus partial upgrade, whether the mains and earthing need attention, how many new circuits are added, and any rewiring found behind the board. We quote after seeing the board so the price is right the first time. An upgrade is a one-off cost that removes the fire and electrocution risk of ceramic fuses and boards without safety switches.

Common questions
How do I know if my switchboard needs upgrading?
Ceramic fuses, no safety switches, frequent tripping, warm or discoloured fuse holders, or a board that cannot take another circuit are the usual signs. A ten-minute look tells us for certain.
How long does a switchboard upgrade take?
Most residential replacements are done in a day, with the power off for part of it. We agree the timing with you in advance.
Do I need a switchboard upgrade for an EV charger or heat pump?
Often, yes. Both draw a lot of current and need a dedicated circuit and a board with the capacity to carry it. We check this as part of the quote.
Is a switchboard upgrade required for a rental property?
Rental electrical safety checks require working safety switches on the circuits they cover. Many older boards fail on that point alone and need a partial or full upgrade.
