Thermal Imaging & Electrical Scanning
Electrical faults show up as heat long before they fail. Calibrated thermal cameras find overheating connections, overloaded circuits and stressed components in switchboards and cabling without shutting anything down, with a plain-English report you can act on or hand to your insurer.

What our clients say
What we do
What we scan. Switchboards and distribution boards, main and sub-main cabling, terminations and connections, load centres and circuit breakers, solar inverters on request, and any equipment prone to electrical stress.
What it finds. Loose or deteriorating connections, overloaded circuits, imbalanced loads, insulation breakdown, corrosion and mechanical wear, and poorly installed components.
Reporting. Thermal images with the heat signatures, matching photos of the equipment, findings explained in plain English, recommended actions, and an urgency level for each issue.
Repairs. As licensed electricians we can quote and carry out the rectification the scan identifies, rather than handing you a list to take elsewhere.
Why businesses book thermal imaging
- No shutdown. Scanning is done live, under normal load, which is exactly when faults show themselves.
- Insurance and compliance. Many commercial policies expect routine thermal imaging as a risk condition; our scanning and reporting helps property owners meet those requirements.
- Catches the expensive ones early. Most faults found during scanning would have been a fire, a blackout or a machine down within months.
- One contractor. Scan, report and repair from the same licensed team (REC 25761).
- Bundled where it makes sense. With rental compliance audits, preventative maintenance programs or scheduled switchboard inspections.
How it works
- Book. Tell us the site and the boards and equipment to be covered. Best done during normal operating hours under load.
- Scan. Boards opened, every connection and breaker scanned with a calibrated thermal camera, anomalies photographed.
- Report. PDF or hard copy within the agreed turnaround, with each issue rated by urgency and priced for repair if you want it.
What thermal imaging prevents
Burning smells, repeated tripping, unexplained equipment failure, electrical fires and workplace safety incidents. For commercial and industrial sites, an annual scan is one of the cheapest forms of preventative maintenance available.
Areas we service
Melbourne CBD and inner suburbs, Bayside including Brighton, Cheltenham, Mentone, Mordialloc, Frankston and Carrum Downs, and the southeast including Moorabbin, Braeside, Dandenong and Dingley.
Common questions
How often should switchboards be thermally scanned?
Annually for most commercial and industrial sites, more often for critical or heavily loaded boards, and whenever an insurer’s conditions require it.
Does the power need to be off?
No. Scanning is done live under normal load; that is the point.
Is thermal imaging useful for a home?
For an older home with a busy switchboard, or after a fault, yes. For most homes a standard safety audit covers what is needed.
Can you fix what you find?
Yes. We quote the repairs from the report and carry them out as licensed electricians.
