    What our clients say

    What we do

Halogen to LED conversion. Every halogen swapped for an integrated LED downlight on the existing wiring, using the existing holes wherever possible, with old transformers removed.

New downlight installation. Layouts planned for even light in kitchens, living areas, hallways and bathrooms, including IP-rated fittings for wet areas and outdoor eaves.

Downlight repairs. Flickering, buzzing, dead or intermittent downlights diagnosed and fixed: failed drivers, transformers, loose connections or an overloaded circuit.

Dimming and colour. Compatible dimmers fitted, and colour temperature chosen for the room: warm for living and bedrooms, cooler for kitchens and workspaces.

Why customers use us for downlights

    • The bill drops. LED downlights use around a fifth of the power of halogens and last many times longer. On a house full of halogens the saving is noticeable on the first bill.
    • The fire risk goes. Halogen downlights run hot enough to ignite insulation and dust. LEDs run cool and are rated for insulation contact.
    • Neat result. Fittings chosen to cover the existing holes so ceilings do not need patching; layouts planned so rooms are evenly lit.
    • Fixed-price quotes. A per-fitting price for conversions, quoted up front for the whole home.
    • Licensed and insured. REC 25761, with a lifetime workmanship warranty.

    How it works

    1. Quote. A count of fittings and a look at the wiring and switching. Most conversions are priced from a count and a photo.
    2. Installation. Usually a single visit for a whole home. Old fittings and transformers out, LEDs in, dimmers matched, everything tested.
    3. Done. Old halogens and transformers taken away, ceilings left as we found them.

    What affects the cost

The number of fittings, whether it is a conversion on existing wiring or a new layout needing cable runs, dimming requirements, and ceiling access. Conversions on existing wiring are the most economical; the per-fitting price falls with volume.

    Common questions

    Common questions

How much does it cost to replace halogen downlights with LED?
Priced per fitting for conversions on existing wiring, with a better rate for a whole home. Send a count or photos for a quote.

    Why are my downlights flickering?
Usually a failing driver or transformer, an incompatible dimmer, or a loose connection. All are fixable on the visit.

    Can LED downlights be dimmed?
Yes, with a dimmable LED fitting and a compatible dimmer. Mismatched dimmers are the most common cause of flicker after a DIY swap.

Do I need an electrician to replace downlights?
In Victoria, yes. Downlights are hardwired and replacing them is licensed electrical work.
