What our clients say

What we do

New smoke alarm installation. Photoelectric, 240V hardwired with battery backup, interconnected so that when one sounds they all sound. Positioned to the standard, not wherever the old one happened to be.

Replacing expired or faulty alarms. Alarms have a ten-year life. We replace out-of-date units, nuisance-tripping units and anything failing a test, on the spot.

Wireless interconnected systems. Where running new cable is impractical, radio-interconnected alarms give a compliant result in multi-level and retrofit homes without opening walls.

Testing and rental compliance. Routine testing, expiry checks and post-audit upgrades for landlords and property managers, with the paperwork done.

Why customers use us for smoke alarms

  • We recommend what actually protects you. Photoelectric alarms detect slow, smouldering fires earlier; hardwired with battery backup keeps working in a blackout; interconnection gets everyone up at the same time.
  • Fixed on the visit. Chirping, wrong locations, expired units, alarms tenants have pulled down: sorted in one trip in almost every case.
  • Rental legislation applied correctly. Victoria’s rental rules require working, compliant alarms tested at least annually, with tenants notified. We do it the way the regulation reads.
  • Licensed electricians. Hardwired alarms are electrical work (REC 25761). Every install is tested and certified.
  • Local. Carrum Downs based, working across Bayside and the southeast daily.

How it works

  1. Book. Tell us the property type and what is prompting the call: a chirp, an audit report, a renovation, or a routine check.
  2. On site. Existing alarms tested and dated, locations checked against the standard, replacements and additions installed and interconnected.
  3. Done. A record of what was installed and tested, and a reminder when the next test or replacement falls due if you want one.

What we recommend

For most homes and rentals: photoelectric alarms, 240V hardwired, with battery backup and interconnection. Where cabling is not practical, wireless interconnected alarms. Brands we fit are chosen for reliability and a full ten-year sensor life, not price alone.

Areas we service

Bayside including Brighton, Sandringham, Hampton, Black Rock, Beaumaris, Cheltenham, Mentone, Parkdale, Mordialloc, Aspendale, Chelsea, Carrum, Frankston and Carrum Downs; the southeast including Moorabbin, Bentleigh, Oakleigh, Dandenong and Dingley; and the Melbourne CBD.

Common questions

Common questions

Why is my smoke alarm chirping?
Usually a flat backup battery or an alarm past its ten-year life. Replacing the battery fixes the first; the second needs a new alarm.

Do smoke alarms need to be interconnected?
For new installations and most rental compliance upgrades, yes. Interconnection means every alarm sounds together, which is what gets a sleeping household out.

How often should smoke alarms be tested and replaced?
Test monthly and have them checked at least yearly; rentals require an annual test. Replace every ten years, regardless of how they look.

Can you install smoke alarms without running new cables?
Yes. Wireless interconnected alarms communicate over radio and suit multi-level homes and retrofits where cabling would mean opening walls and ceilings.
